Lasell’s women’s basketball team picked up their fourth win of the season in a non-conference blowout against the Lesley Linx, 63-41 on senior night at Lasell.
Seniors Jo Bishop (So. Burlington, VT), Kelsey Converse (Laconia, NH) and Kara Hinthorne (Rockland, MA) were all honored with flowers in a ceremony before the game. The trio of seniors were also in the starting lineup for the Lasers.
As the game began the teams traded baskets for the first six minutes. With Lesley leading 13-12, Justine Ryan (Norwood, MA) hit back to back threes to give Lasell the 18-13 lead. The Lasers would not look back.
By halftime the Lasers had stretched the lead to 34-23. Ryan led the team at half with eight points while Bishop chipped in with six in her final home game. Lasell spread the scoring around in the first 20 minutes as eight players scored in the half.
The Linx could not overcome the early deficit as Ryan had two more threes and Danielle Autencio added seven points to boost the Lasers in the second half. Lesley was limited to only 18 points in the final 20 minutes.
Ryan led the scoring for the Lasers in the game with 14 while Autencio had 11 points and 13 boards and Bishop finished with eight points. Kim Archibald (Lewiston, ME) and Alexis Chappell (Springfield, MA) added eight points apiece for Lasell.
Emily Flemming (Medford, MA) led Lesley scoring 16 and added seven steals in the loss.
With the win the Lasers improve to 4-19 overall while the Linx fall to 0-24.
Lasell has two games remaining in the season Thursday at Kenne State and the final game of the year, a matinée Saturday at Norwich.
