Lasell men’s soccer defeated Norwich 5-1 on Tuesday, September 18, their first meeting since Norwich knocked Lasell out of the GNAC tournament last year.

The game progressed slowly at first with both teams executing counter attacks on one another. Around the fifth minute of play, Lasell’s Bako Soka, scored a goal from the top of the penalty box that was mishandled by Norwich’s goalkeeper.

The next goal wouldn’t be scored until the 25 minute mark when Lasell’s Nerry Guerra took the ball into Norwich’s box where he was taken down. Guerra was awarded a penalty kick which he scored on.

With ten seconds left in the first half, Lasell was awarded a free kick at the half-field marker which Ryan Montemerro took and scored off of a botched header by a Norwich defender.

Fifteen minutes into the second half Norwich scored their first goal. The goal came on a one-on-one match up against the Lasell goalkeeper. Lasell proceeded to score two more goals before the final whistle. One of those goals was scored by Mike Skelton, recording his fifth goal of the year in the 76 minute mark.
