My transition from being a high school student to a college student was easy for about a week.
I started making new friends quickly and found my way around campus in under three days. After classes started to pick up, I struggled to keep myself together. I had conflicts with due dates, new styles of writing and new ways of learning in the classroom.
Having to adjust to the college life was more challenging than I had anticipated.
Managing time to do homework, leisure activities, sleep, and eat all had to fit into a schedule. At home, I would do the same routine daily. Wake up, go to school, go to practice, finish my homework, eat, sleep and repeat. I know this might sound foolish, but I’m a freshman…it happens.
Other than the academic side of college, I’m thriving with the social aspect. I joined the cheer team because, why not? I joined the pride club to show my support for equality. I am also in the public relations alliance, outdoor adventure club, and on the women’s lacrosse team.
Being at Lasell so far has been great. I feel like I am making new friends every day and while this was never a problem in high school, the friends I am making at Lasell are amazing. Everyone here has been so kind and I couldn’t think of a better way to approach a new experience.
I am beyond excited to see where this school takes me in the future and who will be by my side.
