Crazy first day on campus

There were already so many emotions on move-in day. Mainly my head was filled with excitement and I could not wait to meet new friends and explore the campus.

After carrying all of my belongings up to my room, I couldn’t wait to lay on my UGG bedsheets, or walk on our pretty pink and grey fur rugs. I have thought about how I would decorate my dorm room for years. Today all my thoughts were coming together for my dream room.

I said goodbye to my parents and I was shocked that I did not cry when we said our goodbyes. Of course I would miss them so much but I could not wait to start my new college journey all on my own. I went from door to door and met lots of new kids.

After being settled in for a few hours, the fire alarm went off and students came running out of the building, a few of them with wet hair and shirts. The pipe had bursted and flooded multiple rooms including mine. The rugs were all destroyed. We did not know where we were going to stay the night until almost 10 p.m.

We ended up staying in Saunders House for the first nights on campus. Sure, it was crazy, but it all worked out in the end and I even met some of my best friends here because of living in Saunders. That house is like a mansion and there are many rumors that it is haunted. I think we can all agree that it is definitely haunted after seeing those basement lights flicker on and off.

But in the end, this is a great funny story to tell everyone about my first day on campus.
