Meet The Editors

Editorial staff of 2021-2022

Claire Crittendon | Co-Editor-in-Chief

Claire is a rising senior majoring in journalism and community violence prevention. Originally from Framingham, Massachusetts, she has been a member of The 1851 Chronicle since her first semester in January 2019. After graduation, Claire hopes to create content for non-profit organizations centered in community outreach and engagement. In her spare time, she can be found hanging out in Donahue’s fashion labs or hiking anywhere in New England.

Kaie M. Quigley | Co-Editor-in-Chief & Digital Sports Editor

Kaie is a junior majoring in communications with a focus in sports. He was raised in a small town in Southern Vermont, but has recently moved away from the Green Mountain State, now residing just outside of Hartford, CT. Outside of the Chronicle, Kaie loves spending time with people he loves, and occasionally getting out on the course to play golf.

Rachel Shepard | Copy Editor

Rachel is a rising senior transfer student from Deerfield, New Hampshire. She is a communications major with a concentration in journalism, and a minor in graphic design. Outside of The Chronicle she is usually hiking or about to start another unfinished painting project. 

Kait Bedell | News Editor

Kait is a sophomore from Londonderry, New Hampshire and is majoring in communications with a concentration in journalism and media writing. At Lasell she plays for both the women’s lacrosse and field hockey teams and has enjoyed playing sports all her life. Kait loves spending time with family and friends when she isn’t busy with school work, writing for the newspaper, and her athletics.

Micheal Maruk | Art Director

Michael is a junior studying communications with concentration in radio/TV production and a minor in journalism. When Mike isn’t working with The 1851 Chronicle staff, he is most likely working at the WLAS radio station, shooting pictures, and film of sorts or even rowing with the Lasell Crew Team.

Holly Feola | Opinion Editor

Holly is a senior at Lasell from Pelham, New Hampshire. She is majoring in psychology and minoring in communications. Outside of The 1851 Chronicle, she is a member of Empty Bowls and a resident assistant. She also was an orientation leader this past summer. Holly enjoys the beach and loves to spend time with her dog, family, and friends.

Abigail Brown | Arts & Entertainment Editor

Abigail is a senior at Lasell studying fashion media & marketing. Abi is from Hopkinton, Massachusetts and likes to spend her time taking hikes with friends. Besides writing for the 1851 Chronicle, she writes for Polished Magazine’s blog, is a social media director, and writer for Analog Magazine. 

Bailey Klingaman | Digital Editor

Bailey is a senior from Atkinson, New Hampshire. She is involved in a three year program at Lasell, is majoring in journalism, and is pursuing a minor in photography. She has been a member of The 1851 Chronicle since the fall of 2019. When she isn’t writing, Bailey enjoys painting, doing puzzles, and kickboxing.

Rayana Petrone | Digital Editor 

Rayana is a junior from Worcester, Massachusetts. She is majoring in communications with a concentration in journalism and media writing and minoring in marketing. Rayana is also involved with Lasell’s Blue Key Society, and is a writer for the university’s chapter of Her Campus. When she isn’t writing, Rayana enjoys spending time with family, friends, and going to the gym.

Taylor Viles | Print Sports Editor

Taylor is a senior communications major double concentrating in sports communication and journalism. His career goal is to become an inspirational sports broadcaster. He interned with the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2019 and planned to return in 2020 but COVID-19 shut down those plans. Instead, he was able to freelance for the league during the course of the summer. Taylor is excited to bring a new energy to the sports editor position this school year. 

Rebecca Osowski | Features Editor

Rebecca is a rising sophomore from Westfield, MA, majoring in communications with a concentration in sports communication and a minor in journalism. Outside of the Chronicle, Rebecca is a member of the Student Alumni Association and Habitat for Humanity. When she is not writing, you can find her hanging out with her friends, watching crime shows or exploring Boston.
