Fashion Department holds “Discovery Day” seminar Reply

Lasell students, faculty and alumni gathered in de Witt Hall on for a seminar entitled “Fashion is Alive and Well, and Living at Lasell College” that centered around the current happenings and opportunities in the world of fashion merchandising, and featured a keynote speaker as well as alumni and student panel discussions. The event was primarily organized by Professor Anne Vallely and Department Chair Lynn Blake, who worked to secure the keynote speaker and panelists.

Tickets are now on sale for Lasell’s Senior Fashion Show known as Runway, and this year’s senior class features 20 talented students, all with original ideas and looks. Three standout designers are Chloe Fimlaid, Rebecca Marie Douglas, and Rebekah Miller.

The fashion department has partnered with Dana-Farber and Frederic Sharf, who organizes exhibitions of fashion and art at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dana-Farber, and Boston Children’s Hospital, to install the first piece of fashion in Dana-Farber’s art collection. Senior fashion merchandising major Kayla Diggins worked to provide research on the dress that is currently on display at the hospital. More…
