Women’s Lax drops season opener to Colby-Sawyer

The women’s lacrosse team suffered a 15-8 defeat against Colby-Sawyer College at Grellier Field on Wednesday in their first conference matchup of the season. Senior attack Sophia Gadsden and senior midfielder Sydney Brady led the way for the Lasers. Gadsden had three goals and one assist and Brady scored twice on the day.

Women’s Field Hockey Team goes pink

On the field of Grellier Field, Lasell University takes the win against Simmons University scoring 2-0 in field hockey. For the ending of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Lasell’s women’s field hockey team wears pink within their last game to honor those who are impacted by breast cancer.

Let there be light on Grellier Field

Scattered across the lawns of Newton, you may have seen signs that read “Stop Lasell’s Stadium Lights, 70-foot lights don’t belong in Auburndale.” These signs are part of a protest regarding Lasell’s plans to put lights on Grellier Field. The disagreement caught attention outside Newton when an article in the Boston Globe was published over the summer. It expressed how worried our neighbors are and why they do not want the lights. While these worries are under- stood, it would only be fair to share our side of the story.
