Dubem Okafor was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts yet he finds himself moving around in the Boston area. As an undergraduate, Okafor is majoring in Communication with a concentration in Creative Advertisement with dreams of using it to create graphics work or run social media. Not only is he enthusiastic about graphic design, but he also expresses himself in his origins and fashion.

Among Lasell’s notable characters is student designer, model, and poet Cora Lynn. She gets into going against the grain and her personal growth within the art of fashion. To talk about what makes a community great, you need to understand who makes it up and influences it from within. It takes a few underlying creative geniuses to inspire the rest of us, and that is what this new editorial section will aim towards uncovering. Who makes Lasell’s energy unique? Which students remain lowkey but stand out; and what makes them stand out?

Matt Berentsen, a senior at Lasell, walks among the student population no different than anyone else, heading to and from class and making the most out of his four years in college. As the station manager for WLAS 102.9 FM, he has led the student radio station to 18 Interscholastic Broadcasting System Award nominations and now preparing for the real world, he reflects on how he has changed. Hannah Smith: Where does your passion for sexual education come from?
Corey Zemke: I knew that the Peer Health Educators did things revolving around sexual education, but they’ve never done much and the students have been requesting more. Allison Weinberg [Witcomb], my advisor (and the peer health professional staff leader), let me have full reins and I’m running with it.
