In October 2019, the 1851 Chronicle sat down with men’s basketball player Kevin Vanderhorst before his first full season following a six-month cancer battle. Two-and-a-half years later, we are circling back with Vanderhorst to check in on how his college experience has progressed.

Softball swept by Simmons

The softball team fell twice to Simmons at Taylor Field on Saturday, dropping their conference record to 5-7. The Lasers lost game one by a score of 4-1 and game two 10-1. It was a quiet day for the Lasers offense against a top pitcher.

Ferreira’s walk-off single knocks off Framingham State in extra innings

First-year Griffin Ferreira had the walk-off single into center field in the bottom of the 10th for the Lasell University baseball team during a 9-8 win over Framingham State Tuesday evening at Brandeis University’s Stein Diamond.

Softball splits doubleheader with Eastern Nazarene

First-year Samara Turgeon of the Lasell University softball team went a combined 5-of-7 batting, with two runs, one triple and one double, in a double header split with Eastern Nazarene on Wednesday at Taylor Field. Lasell dropped the first game 5-2, but completed the comeback in the second game to win 15-14.

Lasers say goodbye to Ricky Igbani

After going on leave in January, head coach of track and field Ricky Igbani officially resigned his coaching duties on February 24 because of a family matter. He has spent the last two semesters in charge of the cross country, indoor, and outdoor track and field teams.
