Chelsea Gwyther juggles new responsibilities Reply

On Dec. 10, 2018, Lasell hired Chelsea Gwyther to be the next candidate for Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations.

Gwyther earned her bachelor’s degree from Prescott College in Arizona and her master’s at the University of North Carolina. Gwyther has two children, a 16 and 20-year- old. Her husband is a firefighter in Amherst, Mass.

Newbury College gets ready to close its doors Reply

On Dec. 14, 2018, Newbury College announced it would be closing at the end of the Spring 2019 semester after suffering from financial problems. The college, located in Brookline, has been open since 1962 and currently has just under 630 enrolled students.

School of Fashion Welcomes Professor Kathleen Potter 1

When Mount Ida College closed its door, it wasn’t just the students that transferred to Lasell; Associate Professor Kathleen Potter came here as well. Potter, the former Fashion Industries Department Chair, had been working at Mount Ida for six years when the college announced it would be closing after its spring 2018 semester. After receiving offers from multiple fashion schools, Potter chose to continue her career here at Lasell.

First Year Pulls Back the Curtain Reply

My first impression of Lasell was fairly different from others. The reason I say this is because my very first time visiting the campus was the day of orientation! Yes, it’s true. I paid my deposit, didn’t attend accepted student day and orientation was my first time seeing the campus. Although it was pretty risky, I’m so glad I made the decision to attend. I had so much fun during orientation; I made some great friends and even met my roommates. They are by far the sweetest people I’ve ever met!
