My New Start Reply

The day was August 19th. Nerves filled my body as I drove onto campus. I was here two weeks early for cross country pre-season. The campus was very quiet and peaceful. I truthfully was not ready for a change. I did not want to go to college, I wanted to be back home with all my friends. Of course, the first night was rough and I was homesick. The bed was stiff and I missed my parents, but as time passed I slowly started getting used to the feeling of being away from home.

Home Away from Home

This past summer was one of my favorites. It felt long and I hung out with my family and friends often. It wasn’t until orientation was right around the corner that I began to get a little nervous. I couldn’t believe I was going to college! I have two sisters and they are the best, but both had two different college experiences. My older sister is shy and nervous while the other is very outgoing and courageous. They each told me opposite things to expect which didn’t help and naturally, I became nervous.
