Filling de Witt with Empty Bowls Reply

Friday, April 12 marked the third annual Empty Bowls event at Lasell. Members of the Empty Bowls club invited students and community members to de Witt Hall to buy a handmade ceramic bowl, enjoy a meal and listen to live music. The proceeds from the event went to the Centre Street Food Pantry for the fight against hunger.

Sexual Assault Is Not a Dr. Seuss Children’s Book 1

Lasell College talks about enforcing consent knowledge but hasn’t taken any steps to make a difference in educating students on this issue. Lasell should have a mandatory consent class required to graduate. The course would teach students how important consent is, understand how to handle certain situations and help prevent sexual assault cases from happening.

Thinking in Pink Reply

Students gathered in the newly renovated Arnow Campus Center this past Tuesday to raise breast cancer awareness. The Lasell community decked out in pink attire and brought lively energy to show their support. The event was complete with performances from the dance team, step team and A cappella group. As October and National Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, students honored their loved ones and survivors by releasing pink balloons in the North quad. Check out this video for a glimpse of Tuesday’s event!

Raising Awareness for Homeless Veterans: One Cookie at a Time Reply

Senior student Armando Machado Jr. is making a difference in his community.

By working with the New England Center and Home for Veterans, he’s raising money and awareness. The charity helps former members of the military to find jobs and gives them a place to stay until they get back on their feet.
