Emma Murray, junior fashion design major with a minor in business, said her mother helped discover and fuel her passion for fashion. At a young age, Murray was infatuated with her mother’s box of scrap fabrics. She didn’t know what she was doing with them; not many five-year-olds would, but she knew she felt a connection with them.

Interesting Internships

Most of these internship examples were found on the Lasell University website! After going to the homepage, click on the drop-down menu titled ‘Academics’ and then select ‘Internship Programs’ near the end. From there you can choose your major/school and view many companies and organizations that Lasell students have worked with in the past.

Model Call causes a stir

Body positivity is a concept that many people struggle to define, let alone attain. Is it being a certain weight, being in a good position of health, or is it feeling good in your own skin? At Lasell, students may have different definitions but this does not change the fact that so many people were outraged by a message sent out through Lasell’s School of Fashion (SOF) Instagram account.

Paws For A Cause & LU designers present a therapy dog fashion show

The School of Fashion has teamed up with Coordinator of the Pet Therapy Program Patti Betti to produce a therapy dog fashion show/fundraiser that will benefit the Sophia Gordon Cancer Center at Lahey Hospital And Medical Center in Burlington set for October 2020.

Campus events shift due to COVID-19

A slew of events and ceremonies have been postponed or canceled due to COVID-19 to practice social distancing and ensure the health of the Lasell community. However, there are still things to look forward to virtually during this pandemic, and in-person after it subsides. Student organizations, faculty and administrators have been working and making alterations to events such as Commencement, the Senior Collections fashion show, Relay for Life and more.
