A group of Lasell Students are currently advocating for the passage of the Criminal Justice Reform Bill in the Massachusetts State Legislation. Their campaign, Lease On Life, is seeking to get Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker to give support on this bill that will give second chances to low level or first-time offenders as well as help the school-to-prison pipeline. The students are members of SOC 307 “Action for Social Justice” class, taught by Assistant Professor of Social Sciences Betsy Leondar-Wright. The bill would ultimately improve the Criminal Justice System and students are asking for help in the campaign to make sure the bill is passed.
