The number one seed women’s soccer team defeated No. 8 Johnson & Wales University 2-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference quarterfinals. Junior Bridget Lynch and freshman Devon Day each scored for the Lasers.  Junior goalie Leah Pappalardo made four saves in the shutout. The Lasers host Emmanuel College on Tuesday, November 5 at 1:30 p.m. in the GNAC semifinals.

The women’s volleyball team fell to Brandeis University 3-1 on October 29 to wrap up the regular season. Sophomore Jordan Seid led the Lasers with 19 digs and sophomore Sharisse Scott-Rawlins led Lasell with 11 kills. The Lasers finish the regular season with a record of 16-12. The Great Northeast Athletic Conference tournament opens on Tuesday, November 5.

The women’s soccer team defeated St. Joseph’s of Maine 4-1 on Saturday, October 26 at Taylor Field. The victory clinched the Great Northeast Athletic Conference regular season championship and the top seed in the GNAC tournament. The victory improved the Lasers to 13-3-1 overall and 10-0-1 in the conference. Junior Bridget Lynch scored a pair of goals, as her twin sister Kayla scored one of her own.

The rugby team fell to Amherst College 41-19 on Sunday, October 20 at Grellier Field. Junior Steve Saluti scored two tries and senior Ricky Hawkes also scored a try for the Lasers (2-2). With their pink socks and wristbands, the team showed their support in the fight against breast cancer during Family, Friends, and Alumni Weekend.

The women’s soccer team lost to Swarthmore College 3-1 on Saturday October 19. Freshman Erin Smith scored the lone goal for the Lasers. Pink shirts were donned by the team for their annual Pink Event, in which they raise money for cancer research in memory of Coach Vito LaFrancesca’s mother, Maria. This year, the team partnered with The V Foundation in raising funds.
